Metro Denver Pheasants
Forever Merges with Local Quail Forever Chapter!!!!
Recently, the Metro Denver Pheasants Forever Board
of Directors were approached by the Board of Directors from the
Colorado Covey of Quail Forever with an interest in merging the
two chapters. Through multiple discussions, it was clear
that we all have the same basic goals and mission....to improve
habitat and provide opportunities to our local youth. With
the approval of our national office and our regional director, we
have merged the two chapters and are now the Metro Denver
Pheasants Forever/Quail Forever Chapter #816. As a
result of the merger, we have gained two additional board members
from the QF chapter, namely Larry Gysin (Membership Co-Chair) and
Kim Herfurt (Habitat Co-Chair). Larry will be in
charge of working with Rick Cranston, our current Membership Chair
and monitoring the QF memberships. Kim is a Division of
Wildlife Sr. Huntmaster and offers his expertise and knowledge to
the youth mentor program and will also be acting as the Habitat
Co-Chair. The QF chapter will be donating $500 to the MDPF/QF
combined chapter and we appreciate their contribution to our
cause. The merger increases our membership by 17 members and
we look forward to working with them as a team on our projects
throughout the year.
We are working on a joint membership program where
members can join both PF and QF at a reduced cost to be members of
both entities. We will post more information on the progress
of the membership incentives as soon as they are finalized.
In the meantime, lets welcome our new QF partners.
